About The Position

InGenesis is looking for a Healthcare Transportation Associate (HTA) to join our team and play a vital role in delivering essential healthcare services to the community. As an HTA, you'll ensure the timely and safe transportation of our Mobile Clinic to various locations while serving as a key member of our patient care team. This unique position combines driving and clerical duties, making it perfect for someone who is versatile, patient-focused, and eager to learn. Although prior healthcare experience is not required, we're looking for individuals who are willing to learn and adapt. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required (College education preferred).
  • Valid CA Driver's License and experience driving larger vehicles (up to 37 feet) required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and be trained in healthcare-related systems and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting or community clinic preferred, but not required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Safe Operation of the Mobile Clinic: Ensure the Mobile Clinic (up to 37 feet in length) is safely transported to various community sites. This includes following all traffic laws, driving cautiously, and ensuring patient and staff safety.
  • Pre-Departure Checklist: Complete a thorough checklist before departing for the assigned location. This includes inspecting the vehicle, checking the generator and on-board systems, and ensuring proper vehicle functionality.
  • Mobile Clinic Setup and Breakdown: Upon arrival at the destination, set up the Mobile Clinic, including powering up equipment, preparing patient areas, and coordinating any external resources required for the clinic's operation. At the end of the day, complete breakdown and end-of-day checks to ensure the clinic is secure and ready for transport.
  • Maintenance & Inventory Reporting: Communicate with the Program Supervisor for Mobile Services and facilities maintenance regarding any vehicle maintenance needs, cleaning issues, or inventory shortages. Ensure the mobile unit remains in proper working condition and is kept clean.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Be available for a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional overtime to meet the needs of the mobile health service.
  • Patient Registration: Greet patients warmly and assist them in registering for their appointments. Ensure all patient information is entered accurately into the electronic health record system.
  • Appointment Management: Help patients schedule, change, or confirm their appointments. Provide reminders of upcoming visits and assist with rescheduling when necessary.
  • Eligibility Verification: Confirm patient eligibility for services by checking insurance information and assist patients with any questions about their coverage.
  • Payment Handling: Calculate charges, process payments, and reconcile receipts at the end of the day. Ensure that patient financial information is handled with confidentiality and in accordance with clinic protocols.
  • Clerical Support: Enter patient data accurately into the clinic's electronic health system, ensuring all information is updated and correctly filed. This includes filing patient charts and handling sensitive medical information in line with HIPAA regulations.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns, ensuring a welcoming and supportive clinic environment. Work with the care team to manage patient flow and assist with any needs that arise during the day.
  • Inventory & Supplies: Assist with managing and ordering supplies for the Mobile Clinic. This includes taking inventory, monitoring usage, and ensuring the clinic is stocked with the necessary materials for daily operations.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Ensure the Mobile Clinic is taken for regular maintenance and cleaning (e.g., trips to the car wash) and coordinate any repairs or inspections needed.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Accurately report daily patient utilization numbers and other data as required. This helps the team track performance and ensure proper service delivery.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare professionals on-site to support the team in delivering excellent care. Participate in team meetings, training, and workshops to stay updated on procedures and protocols.
