About The Position

Experience a summer “Where Adventure Grows!” Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines seeks dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to be part of our 2026 Summer Camp Team supporting our overnight camp programs across all Council properties: Camp Mary Atkinson, Camp Graham, Camp Hardee, and Camp Mu-Sha-Ni. We are seeking a Healthcare Supervisor to support our overnight camp program at Camp Mary Atkinson. This position may also support smaller program groups operating at Camp Graham, Camp Hardee, and Camp Mu-Sha-Ni throughout the summer. Transportation will be provided from Camp Mary Atkinson to the other camp properties as needed. Position: Healthcare Supervisor Location: Camp Mary Atkinson, Selma, NC (with travel to other Council camps as needed) Duration: Summer 2026 (mid-May through the end of July) Compensation: Weekly salary of $811.00, including housing and meals after training. We’re excited to offer summer camp staff the opportunity to earn up to a $500 bonus this summer! Here’s how it works: $250 Mid-Summer Bonus: Camp staff hired for the summer who remain employed through the end of June will receive a $250 bonus. $250 Completion Bonus: Camp staff who remain employed through the end of summer camp will receive a $250 bonus.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment Visas at this time.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Physician’s Assistant, Registered Nurse (RN), Paramedic, or Emergency Medical Technician Licensed in North Carolina is preferred.
  • CPR certified.
  • Current First aid certification and experience in first aid and emergency management.
  • Experience in both children and adult illness/injury care.
  • Desire to work with children and young adults.
  • Community health knowledge.
  • Must have a North Carolina driver's License.
  • Commitment to the aims and purpose of the Girl Scout movement.
  • Ability to stimulate interest in basic cleanliness, health education and safety practices.
  • Readiness and ability to adapt to a camp work environment.
  • Emotional stability to meet emergencies with good judgment.
  • Knowledge in safe use and storage of medicines.
  • Awareness of potential health and safety hazards and ways to control them.
  • Willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours.
  • Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff.
  • Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
  • Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
  • Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
  • Endurance including prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, walking long distances, hiking, climbing, and stretching.
  • Willing to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours with limited or simple equipment and facilities with daily exposure to the sun, heat, and animals such as bugs, snakes, bats, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Physician’s Assistant, Registered Nurse (RN), Paramedic, or Emergency Medical Technician Licensed in North Carolina is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Campers and Staff: Oversees the health and safety of campers and staff.
  • Record Maintenance: Provide healthcare to meet the individual needs of camp staff and campers and will screen all campers and staff who are arriving and departing camp. Maintains accurate and detailed medical records according to state and American Camp Association Standards.
