About The Position

West Monroe is seeking a Practice Lead, Healthcare (Payer) to drive the next phase of growth for our healthcare consulting business. This is a market-facing leadership role responsible for shaping and scaling our payer offerings, expanding executive client relationships, and delivering measurable impact across business and technology transformation initiatives. As a senior leader within our Healthcare Practice, you will operate at the intersection of strategy, growth, and delivery—defining how we bring differentiated solutions to market. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite clients, build and lead high-performing teams, and drive sustained revenue and market expansion. This role is ideal for a proven practice builder with deep healthcare payer expertise, strong executive relationships, and the ability to connect business strategy with enabling technology in a rapidly evolving market.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of consulting experience, including leadership of large-scale programs and teams
  • Demonstrated success building and growing a consulting practice
  • Strong business development track record with an active network of healthcare payer C-suite relationships
  • Deep expertise across payer operations, including mid and front-office functions (e.g., care management, claims, member experience)
  • Recognized thought leadership in the healthcare payer space, with the ability to shape client agendas and market perspectives
  • Strong understanding of payer technology ecosystems, including core platforms and the role of technology in enabling transformation
  • Technical and functional depth, with the ability to connect infrastructure, platforms, and business outcomes
  • Experience leading complex initiatives, including systems integration and enterprise transformation
  • Expertise in key industry domains such as cost optimization, Medicaid, and regulatory-driven transformation
  • Executive presence with strong influencing and advisory skills
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building capabilities
  • Passion for developing talent and delivering meaningful client impact
  • Ability to travel based on client and business needs
  • Hybrid expectation: in-person three days per week

Responsibilities

  • Lead the expansion of West Monroe’s healthcare payer practice, driving new revenue and market share
  • Originate and close new business through an established network of C-suite payer executives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, shaping and influencing large-scale transformation initiatives
  • Build and grow strategic accounts, creating long-term partnerships and recurring revenue streams
  • Elevate West Monroe’s thought leadership across mid and front-office functions (e.g., operations, care management, member engagement, claims)
  • Define and execute the vision and go-to-market strategy for the Healthcare Payer Practice
  • Own financial performance, including revenue growth, profitability, and pipeline health
  • Translate market trends—such as cost takeout, Medicaid transformation, and value-based care—into scalable, differentiated offerings
  • Advance integrated capabilities across business and technology consulting
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing, diverse team
  • Bring a proven track record of building and scaling consulting practices or capability areas
  • Establish delivery methodologies and standards that ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous development
  • Build leadership bench strength and long-term capability
  • Provide executive oversight across a portfolio of engagements
  • Act as an escalation point for complex client situations
  • Sponsor key programs and guide teams toward innovative, outcome-driven solutions
  • Ensure engagements are delivered on time, on budget, and with exceptional client satisfaction
