About The Position

Spectrum Vision Partners (“SVP”) and OCLI Vision (“OCLI”) work together to provide world class eye care to patients. SVP, the management services team, supports OCLI vision, one of the largest multi-specialty ophthalmology networks in the U.S. The company aims to build a great team focused on delivering exceptional eye care. They are looking for passionate and empathetic individuals to join their team as an Assistant Materials Manager. In this full-time day shift role, the Assistant Materials Manager will perform multi-faceted duties related to Materials Management, including inventory control and distribution. The position ensures the timely and accurate receipt, ordering, processing, distribution, and rotation of medical/surgical supplies to various departments and supports the Materials Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in materials management related position such as purchasing, inventory management, or hospital supply chain
  • Medical background a must
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift objects more than 25 pounds and less than 40
  • Able to push/pull objects more than 50 pounds on a cart
  • Ability to navigate inventory management systems and other technological systems such Envi
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize efficiently
  • Ability to think proactively and order efficiently when Materials Manager is off
  • Ability to manage back orders

Responsibilities

  • continually monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies for daily operations
  • Restock par areas as needed
  • Manage the Purchase Order (PO) process, receiving, and replenishment of all supplies for assigned location(s) in the inventory management system (Envi)
  • Identify, resolve, and communicate product availability issues to material manager and all appropriate personnel
  • Coordinate inventory management activities such as daily cycle counts and rotation of supplies and checking expiration dates
  • Assist with value analysis and product trials as requested by materials manager
  • Assist with mandatory physical inventory process at the site every 6 months
  • Manage par areas and maintain accuracy in the Envi inventory system
  • Ensure purchasing activity aligns with the overall purchasing department strategy
  • Ensure that contracts for supplies, implants, equipment services, and purchased services are complying and being followed
  • Oversees flow of equipment and ensures equipment is following applicable biomedical guidelines
  • Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
  • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner with all staff and team members
  • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
