About The Position

Healthcare Financial Analyst 2 Location: Albany, NYDivision: Division of Finance & Rate Setting (DFRS), Item 1195Work Schedule: Hybrid – 50% Remote / 50% Onsite Responsibilities Data Management & Administration Oversee, clean, and structure large healthcare datasets (e.g., Medicaid claims, provider financial reports) for accuracy and compliance Financial Reporting & Analysis Develop routine and ad‑hoc financial reports to analyze program performance, budget variances, and financial trends Utilize SQL, Excel, and business intelligence tools for financial analysis Medicaid Policy & Reimbursement Support the development of Medicaid reimbursement rates Analyze policy changes, including State Plan Amendments (SPAs) and federal waiver programs Data Modeling & Quality Improvement Conduct advanced data analytics to identify patterns, trends, and improvement opportunities Recommend data‑driven enhancements to support program efficiency Strategic Support Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders Provide financial insights to support decision‑making

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in data management, data administration, and/or data reporting

Responsibilities
