About The Position

The Healthcare Advocate Representative will serve as a member of the healthcare team by assisting patients and providers in scheduling incoming specialty referrals.

Requirements

• High School graduate or its equivalency
• Must possess basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to multi- task and prioritize work
• Demonstrates superior customer service skills

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in healthcare field preferred
• Previous telecommunication experience preferred
• Bilingual preferred

Responsibilities

• Call and Schedule patients with appropriate specialty from predefined assigned data base
• Track completion of referrals with appropriate documentation
• Coordinate specific needs for imaging/labs/testing by specialty
• Assemble information concerning patient's clinical background and referral needs
• Provide appropriate clinical information to specialist
• Contact insurance companies to ensure prior authorization requirements are met
• Performs all duties in an independent manner with little or no need for direct supervision
• Complies with personnel policies and hospital safety policies
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients and the public.
• Performs other duties as assigned
