About The Position

NYACH the City’s Industry Partnership for the healthcare sector seeks an experienced Project Manager to drive initiatives that strengthen New York City’s healthcare workforce through informed health-policy strategy and cross-sector collaboration. This role calls for a self-starter who can translate complex federal, state, and local policy developments into actionable programs, craft compelling written products for diverse audiences, and manage multi-stakeholder projects from concept through execution. You will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with the Director of Programs to keep NYACH at the forefront of policy-driven workforce innovation, ensuring that programs align with changing regulations, labor-market trends, and the needs of healthcare employers and workers.

Requirements

  • You have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of experience in project coordination, project management, healthcare administration, workforce development, or a related field and doing activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  • You have education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
  • You have an innate passion and desire to help New Yorkers with an interest in public service.
  • You have the ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously.
  • You have exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • You are extremely detail-oriented, with excellent organization, planning, coordination, and multi-tasking skills.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and in a diverse team environment with all levels of supervisory and frontline staff.
  • You have experience with employer engagement, city government, or community development.
  • You are Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • You have proven ability to lead complex projects with multiple external partners and tight deadlines.
  • You have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Director and Director in day-to-day operations.
  • Team calendar management, meeting coordination, and correspondence.
  • Draft and edit professional documents, reports, presentations, and other communications.
  • Support coordination of internal and external meetings/convenings, including preparation of agendas, meeting materials, and follow-up actions.
  • Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure successful program execution.
  • Monitor progress on multiple initiatives and provide regular status updates to leadership.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies, by maintaining and updating external contact lists via CRM Air table and other CRM management tools.
  • Organize stakeholder meetings, events, and advisory councils, ensuring smooth logistics and effective communication.
  • Serve as a point of contact for stakeholder inquiries and collaborations.
  • Plan and facilitate advisory-council meetings, policy roundtables, and public convenings; synthesize outcomes into action items.
  • Track, analyze, and summarize federal and NYS legislation, Medicaid reforms, waiver proposals, and regulatory changes that affect NYC’s healthcare workforce.
  • Produce briefs, white papers, and talking points that articulate policy impacts on talent pipelines, employer demand, and economic outcomes to support Executive Director and NYC Talent Leadership Team.
  • Advise internal and external partners on policy implications and recommend responsive strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Data Impact Team to integrate labor-market and program data into policy recommendations and project design.
  • Track consultant and vendor agreements; track expenditures and ensure compliance with City procurement rules.
  • Draft, edit, and manage external communications, including newsletters, press releases, and reports.
  • Support the development and execution of social media strategies to enhance NYACH’s digital presence and engagement under the direction of the Director and strategic vision as designed by the Executive Director.
  • Update and maintain the NYACH website to ensure accurate and engaging content.
  • Update, maintain and grow audiences of all NYACH socials including websites, Linked-In, and expansion to other media platforms.
  • Under direction, assist with contract management, including drafting agreements, tracking deadlines, and ensuring compliance.
  • Support budget tracking and financial reporting for programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinate logistics for program convenings, events and off-site stakeholder engagement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and workforce development best practices to inform NYACH strategies.
  • Provide additional administrative and project support as needed.
