About The Position

Our mission at Healthyhorns is to enhance the health and well-being of students’ bodies, minds and lives in support of their academic and personal goals. Healthyhorns is the umbrella brand encompassing University Health Services, Counseling and Mental Health Center and Longhorn Wellness Center. Together, the departments work to enhance the health and well-being of students’ bodies, minds and lives in support of their academic and personal goals. University Health Services (UHS) is an accredited on-campus medical facility dedicated to addressing the varied healthcare needs of UT Austin students. UHS provides comprehensive services, including general medical care, public health education and specialty clinics. Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC) is an accredited on-campus mental health facility dedicated to supporting the well-being of UT Austin students. CMHC offers a range of services, including assessment and referral, group and individual counseling, psychiatry and well-being services. The Longhorn Wellness Center is the health promotion unit servicing University Health Services and Counseling and Mental Health Center. Staff focuses on educating students about priority college health issues by hosting workshops and events, creating new tools, and collaborating with the campus community to enhance overall well-being. The Web Support Assistant supports the Healthyhorns marketing and communications team by helping maintain and update web content across Healthyhorns sites and platforms. This role focuses on basic front-end web updates (HTML/CSS), content publishing in Drupal and WordPress, and preparing images for the web. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable following established brand and accessibility guidelines, and able to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS (able to make simple edits and troubleshoot formatting issues)
  • Familiarity with content management systems, especially Drupal and/or WordPress
  • Basic experience using graphic tools to format images for the web (resize, crop, export for web), such as Adobe Photoshop , Illustrator , Canva , or similar
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow formatting, brand, and publishing standards
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate progress clearly
  • Proficient with common workplace tools (e.g., Microsoft Office )

Nice To Haves

  • Experience updating websites in a university, healthcare, or student services environment
  • Basic understanding of web accessibility best practices (alt text, heading structure, readable link text)
  • Familiarity with asset management and team workflows using tools such as Box , Monday.com , or similar
  • Experience optimizing images for performance (compression, correct file formats like JPG/PNG/WebP).

Responsibilities

  • Updating and publishing web content in Drupal and WordPress (pages, landing pages, posts, menus, links, and basic layout components)
  • Performing basic HTML/CSS edits to support content formatting and on-page presentation
  • Preparing and optimizing images for web use (crop, resize, compress, file naming, and basic formatting)
  • Assisting with website quality checks, including: Proofreading and formatting consistency Link checks and basic troubleshooting Ensuring content follows brand and accessibility best practices (e.g., headings, alt text)
  • Coordinating with team members to implement updates based on timelines and communication priorities
  • Helping organize and maintain shared web assets (images, documents, templates) in approved storage systems
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
