About The Position

Health Unit Coordinator at Providence Medford Medical Center is 0.5 FTE part time position working during weekdays and weekends on an evening shift. The Health Unit Coordinator is a key person within the nursing unit, who provides overall administrative and technical assistance and support in the operation of the assigned nursing unit; and collaborates with other staff and leaders in the development, oversight, and operation of the unit. This position is the hub of all communication to and from the nursing unit; and greatly impacts the "tone" of the unit/shift. Providence caregivers are not simply valued – they’re invaluable. Requirements

• Coursework/Training - Medical terminology course or equivalent educ/experience.
• 1 year - Experience performing secretarial duties in healthcare, or equivalent training in a recognized healthcare program.
• Experience with a variety of software applications.

Nice To Haves

• Coursework/Training - 1 year post high school education.
• Coursework/Training - Satisfactory completion of health unit coordinator coursework or equivalent educ/experience.
• National Certification Health Unit Coordinator upon hire.
• Experience as a preceptor/role model.
