The unit cares for a diverse patient population, including post-surgical patients recovering from bariatric, thoracic, and gastrointestinal procedures, as well as medical patients with conditions such as pneumonia, pancreatitis, and diverticulitis. In this role, the Health Unit Coordinator provides essential clerical, receptionist, and data entry support to ensure the smooth operation of the nursing unit. This position plays a key role in facilitating communication among staff, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the coordination of patient care. All Health Unit Coordinators attend both system-wide and nursing orientation to ensure a strong foundation for success in this vital support role.
