About The Position

Presbyterian Homes & Services - Walnut Ridge is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to join our team. The Health Unit Coordinator will provide administrative support to clinical operations in non-nursing resident care activities at nursing stations, or households. Areas of support include data entry, maintenance of resident charts, records, maintaining/ordering supplies and coordination of resident external appointments. SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. REPORTING STRUCTURE: The Health Unit Coordinator reports to the Clinical Administrator, Clinical Coordinator or designee. Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • One year experience as a Medical Secretary or (1) year experience in long term care as a NAR or TMA.
  • Medical Terminology
  • Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to clinical operations in non-nursing resident care activities at nursing stations, or households in a professional and timely manner.
  • Process forms for admissions, readmissions, discharges and resident transfers.
  • Schedule resident medical and other appointments, labs and x-rays, arrange for resident transportation, complete outpatient and necessary forms, transcribe physician's orders by computer or manually, maintain resident medical records.
  • Manage the nursing supplies and equipment of the household.
