The Float Pool allows you to work with diverse populations across numerous units, departments and/or locations while learning from many of our best caregivers. As Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) on this team, you will offer unparalleled customer service to patients, families and visitors to enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience, no matter where you serve. Using your administrative and clerical skills, you will ensure the efficient operational flow, allowing your fellow caregivers to continue providing optimal medical support. A caregiver in this position works evenings from 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients. Respond to patient call lights and make rounds. Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources. Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of experience in a customer service-related role
• Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework
