The Health Sciences (HSCI) academic advisor assists students to explore academic interests, identify resources for additional information and support, and develop plans of study appropriate for meeting educational goals. Advisors typically counsel students on what courses to take and the graduation requirements of specific programs. The in-person advisor position requires regular and frequent communication with students through scheduled and drop-in appointments, email, phone, and/or virtual contact. In addition, advisors must be aware of and able to refer students to specialized staff for such issues involving counseling services, financial assistance, and career development support. The part-time HSCI academic advisor will carry a caseload of undergraduate students (first-year, sophomores, juniors, and/or seniors) and work 19 hours per week.
