About The Position

Wincore’s Environmental Health & Safety Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives within the organization. Reporting directly to the EHS Director, this position is focused on executing EHS projects, leading training sessions, and actively engaging with employees on the floor to address safety concerns. The EHS Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks, ensure compliance, and promote a culture of safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in a safety role.
  • Existing knowledge of standards and procedures related to health and safety.
  • Experience leading training sessions or presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships.
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
  • Proficient in MS Office – (Excel, PPT, Word)
  • Outstanding organizational skills, results oriented, commitment to integrity and accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30-hour - General/Construction preferred.
  • Experience writing policies and procedures for health and safety.
  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to travel. (Locally/Domestically)

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the EHS Director to execute EHS projects and initiatives, including hazard assessments, ergonomic evaluations, and safety improvement programs.
  • Lead training sessions for employees on various EHS topics, including but not limited to hazard identification, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct regular floor walks to identify and address minor safety concerns, ensuring prompt resolution and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with departmental managers and supervisors to understand operational processes and identify opportunities to improve safety practices.
  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding EHS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, providing guidance and clarification as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders on the floor, understanding their roles and responsibilities in mitigating risks and promoting safety.
  • Assist in incident investigations, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Support the implementation of safety teams to engage employees in safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes, sharing relevant updates with the EHS team and stakeholders.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and projects to address broader organizational EHS goals and objectives.
  • Assist with implementing a world class, employee led safety program and culture.
  • Other duties as assigned by the EHS Director.
