Join our team. #CloroxIsThePlace Your role at Clorox: This position will be responsible for site HSE leadership and compliance. As an HSE Leader at the site, the HSE Specialist will ensure compliance to all applicable Federal, State and Local Regulations in regard to Safety compliance. To include personnel training in these compliance areas, therefore good communication skills are required. This position will also maintain plant federal, state, and local permits (e.g. city, county, or another municipality.) In this role, you will:

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment supporting Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HSE or a related field, or equivalent experience leading HSE programs with relevant training or certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, DOT Hazardous Materials, RCRA).
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations and standards, including EPA, RCRA, Tier II reporting, and local permitting requirements.
  • Experience conducting plant inspections, conducting environmental sampling and supporting audits to ensure compliance.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to train employees, prioritize multiple tasks, and promote a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental compliance programs, including wastewater permits, Tier II reporting, SWP3, SPCC, and hazardous waste management.
  • Drive environmental and sustainability initiatives while establishing and tracking metrics to achieve HSE performance goals.
  • Serve as the primary contact for inspectors, maintaining strong and professional relationships.
  • Develop and implement processes that ensure a safe working environment across the entire plant.
  • Lead safety incident investigations, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations, including timely completion of required regulatory reporting.
  • Lead HSE training, education, and communication programs to ensure employees understand and comply with regulatory and company safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular HSE audits and on-site assessments to identify unsafe behaviors or conditions and take immediate corrective action.
  • Lead safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk, prevent incidents, and support a “Zero Loss” safety mindset.
