About The Position

As an HSE Intern at Magna AIM Systems, you will play a vital role in promoting workplace safety, supporting environmental and health initiatives and advancing ergonomic programs across the facility, This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in health, safety and environmental management while contributing to continuous improvement projects that enhance employee well-being and workplace efficiency.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical, observational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to workplace safety and improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Comfortable working on the production floor to gather ergonomic and safety data.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Occupational Health & Safety, environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics or a related field.
  • Coursework pr prior internship experience to health and safety, ergonomics or environmental compliance preferred.
  • Basic understanding of OSHA regulations, ergonomics principles and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Work, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, job safety analyses and process documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting in a plus.
  • Familiarity with safety management systems and ergonomics assessment tolls preferred.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement principles such as 5S, Kaizen or Lean Manufacturing is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct ergonomic risk assessment and develop a Safe Rotation Program for assembly operators to reduce ergonomic risks and improve workplace safety.
  • Schedule and coordinate First Aid training for team members; actively participate to gain certification and demonstrate understanding of the incident management process.
  • Learn and deliver safety onboarding sessions for new hires as well as conduct OSHA-required refresher trainings.
  • Support ongoing communication awareness campaigns to strengthen AIM Systems’ safety culture.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments of production workstations and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Support the HSE Manager in ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA and local requirements).
  • Assist in maintaining accurate HSE documentation, including inspection reports, training records and safety data sheets.
  • Help update and develop safety procedures, work instructions and risk assessments.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings, incident investigations and root cause analyses.
