The Intern term is from May to August, 2026. Full time requirement (40 hours per week). Purpose: At Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Group oversees site compliance with local and company EHS requirements. In addition, the EHS department develops and manages programs which ensure safe workplace conditions for all employees and demonstrates environmental responsibility towards surrounding communities. The EHS team supports the Research and Development operations and Site Services at our La Jolla facility. Under the mentorship of EHS engineers and managers, the intern will work closely with cross-functional teams to promote and foster a strong EHS culture, uphold compliance, and drive continual improvement. The EHS intern will engage in a variety of activities such as assisting with Biorisk management, performing risk assessments, preparing for site-wide inspections, creating content to drive continuous improvement, verifying laboratory safety and assurance practices, performing industrial hygiene exposure monitoring, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.
