About The Position

We are seeking a Health Psychologist to: Deliver health and behavior interventions to patients receiving inpatient medical care at University Hospital as part of a consultation-liaison service. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based best practice in health psychology, focusing on adjustment to hospitalization, coping with new medical diagnoses, living with chronic illness, non-pharmacological pain management, grief, and related issues. Consultation is provided to patients on services across the hospital including Hematology/Oncology, Trauma Surgery, Cardiothoracic units, Neurosurgery, Neurology, transplant services, and Vascular Surgery, among others. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and medical rounds. Potentially participate in supervision of Health Psychology trainees and contribute to program development. Requirements

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology or related field
  • 1 year of post-doc experience in the area of Behavioral Health in a medical setting
  • Licensure or eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in state of practice. This may include licensing in Wisconsin and other state(s) of practice
  • CPR/BLS within 6 months
