Under general direction of the Director, the Health Program Specialist I, Ombuds Specialist, in the Ombuds Office, serves as a lead and subject matter expert in the Ombuds Division for technical assistance, data analysis, and strategic planning at Covered California. The Ombuds Specialist independently performs in-depth data evaluation of Ombuds operational statistics and health policy issues within the organization. Duties may also include access to information systems containing protected enrollee information, protected health information, and personally identifying information. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee's designated headquarters office subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. Travel expenses associated with commuting to the employee's office headquarters location are not reimbursable, other than authorized transit subsidies.
