This is a summer internship based in Richland, WA. Must hire and onboard no later than June 22, 2026. The job classification is only open to students enrolled in the CBC Nuclear Technology programs in radiation safety. GENERAL SUMMARY Responsible for performing routine health physics tasks and special radiological surveillance and control, radiological surveys, dose assessment, instrument calibration, records and report filing. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Responsible for assessment of airborne and/or surface contamination and radiation levels, and reinforcing established radiological controls for station activities. Job duties include performing routine and special health physics tasks such as plant radiological surveillance and control, radiological surveys, dose assessment, instrument source response checks, radiological records and appropriate filing. Actively participate in the completion of their OJT/OJE tasks assigned. Function within an assigned crew from a Health Physics Control Point during either a refueling outage or an operating fuel cycle, and perform other tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED
  • at least six months of a vocational/trade school program specialized in radiation safety
  • Job classification is only open to students enrolled in the CBC Nuclear Technology programs in radiation safety
