Health Lodge Staff Opportunities: Health Lodge Coordinator $325/Day: Supervise and schedule medical staff team (5-7 nurses), ensure adherence to regulations of NYS Dept. of Health, American Camp Association, and YMCA regulations. Oversee health and safety of up to 300 campers and 100 staff; manage routine care; respond to emergencies; dispense medications, communicate injuries/illness to parents and fill out DOH injury/illness reports as needed. Must be New York State Registered Nurse, LPN, or NP. Health Lodge Staff (day & evening shifts available) Full Season Nurse $300/Day and Per Diem Nurse $120/Day : Oversee health and safety of up to 300 campers and 100 staff. Manage routine care; respond to emergencies. Operate daily health lodge tasks; dispense medications. Must be New York State Registered Nurse, LPN or NP. Health Lodge Assistant $95/Day : Assist the Health Director and Camp Nurses in the health lodge operations including filing, cleaning, parent communication, and routine/minor camper care & first aid. Assist in the screening and preparation of campers for the camp experience from a mental and social health perspective. Work with nurses to deliver necessary camper information to counselors by the first full day of the session (med times, allergies, special needs, etc.). Must have experience or desire to work in the medical field. Must have the ability to multi-task, a strong sense of confidentiality, and experience working with children. Nursing, mental health, and health science students are applicable candidates for this position. Mental Health Coordinator $95-$120/Day Pending Education/Certification Level: This position serves as a resource for campers and staff who need additional support while at camp, utilizing restorative justice philosophy and practices. The Mental Health Specialist offers support to campers whose emotional needs may go beyond what their cabin counselors have the tools to support; they can also meet with counselors to lead trainings or give them additional strategies for working with campers and their mental health challenges. They are also a resource to support staff members with their own mental health. This position will be responsible for working with the Health Lodge team to screen incoming camper health forms and work with summer staff to set up campers with a mental health diagnosis or challenge for a successful camp experience. This role will serve as the first responder for any mental health crisis and will work with the Summer Camp Director to determine if campers or staff should remain in the camp setting based on their mental health needs. This role is designed to be a professional resource for the entire camp team. Candidates will preferably have a current license as an LCSW, Clinician (LPC), Therapist, School Counselor, and/or Child Psychologist.

Requirements

  • Must be New York State Registered Nurse, LPN, or NP (Health Lodge Coordinator, Full Season Nurse, Per Diem Nurse)
  • Must have experience or desire to work in the medical field (Health Lodge Assistant)
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, a strong sense of confidentiality, and experience working with children (Health Lodge Assistant)
  • Health Lodge Director must be available 5-6 days a week for the entire summer season
  • Health Lodge Director must be a NYS RN, LPN or NP
  • Health Lodge Director must have current wilderness first aid and CPR certifications (or be willing to be trained)
  • Health lodge staff must be NYS registered LPN, RN, or NP and be available to work a minimum of 12 shifts throughout the summer
  • Candidates will preferably have a current license as an LCSW, Clinician (LPC), Therapist, School Counselor, and/or Child Psychologist (Mental Health Coordinator)
