About The Position

Access to Healthcare Network is seeking a Health Insurance Specialist Supervisor to oversee daily operations of Eligibility Specialists with insurance responsibilities and Claims Processors. This position plays a key role in ensuring Ryan White Part B clients receive timely, accurate, and compassionate support with insurance eligibility, enrollment, and premium processing. The ideal candidate is an experienced, bilingual leader with deep knowledge of insurance programs, strong communication skills, and a passion for supporting vulnerable populations.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) - Required
  • High School Diploma - Required
  • Ryan White program experience - Required
  • Minimum 1 year of healthcare-related social work or 2 years of experience working with special needs populations including case management knowledge.
  • Minimum 2 years of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, database systems, and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Maintain professionalism and compassion when supporting clients and staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, public health, sociology, psychology, or related field preferred (or equivalent education/experience).
  • CHW Certification, Stanford Chronic Disease Training, or Chronic Disease Self‑Management Program training.
  • Case management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Eligibility Specialists and Claims Processors as the primary point of contact.
  • Oversee team performance, quality, training, and workflow consistency.
  • Maintain updated SOPs, tools, and resources.
  • Manage schedules, approve timecards, and coordinate time‑off requests.
  • Assign tasks and ensure timely completion of follow‑ups and inquiries.
  • Support ongoing program development and process improvements.
  • Assess client eligibility for Medicaid, Medicare, employer plans, and Nevada Exchange coverage.
  • Conduct Ryan White Part B eligibility screenings.
  • Review insurance applications for accuracy and completeness.
  • Process and maintain premium payments for various insurance programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Ryan White Part B and Nevada DHHS requirements.
  • Enter accurate client information into CAREWare and Salesforce.
  • Maintain working knowledge of insurance systems and enrollment procedures.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and uphold confidentiality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Stay informed on Nevada/Federal Health Exchange, CMS/Medicare, Medicaid, and assistance programs.
  • Attend required meetings and collaborate regularly with the Assistant Director.
  • Adapt to evolving program needs and workflows.
  • Complete required certifications within designated timelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
