About The Position

The Springfield-Greene County Health Department is seeking a Public Health Initiatives Coordinator to lead the Healthy Living Alliance and the Mayor's Commission for Children. What You'll Do: Coordinate all activities and meetings for the Mayor's Commission for Children and the Healthy Living Alliance. Foster relationships with community leaders and other community health stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve priority community health and children's issues. Plan, develop, implement and evaluate assessments, policy and system changes to improve community and children's health. What You'll Need: The ability to build relationships and bring partners together to create meaningful change. Public Health Awareness as well as an understanding of the unique challenges facing our community's youth. A passion for advocating for resources, mobilizing decision-makers and driving forward initiatives that support healthy futures. The ability to communicate professionally - whether you are leading a meeting, writing a report, or speaking with stakeholders. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Public Health, Human Services, Social Work, Public Administration or a related field
  • Two years of responsible experience
  • Driver's license
  • The ability to build relationships and bring partners together to create meaningful change.
  • Public Health Awareness as well as an understanding of the unique challenges facing our community's youth.
  • A passion for advocating for resources, mobilizing decision-makers and driving forward initiatives that support healthy futures.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in a related area is a plus.
