(Temporary – Approx. 2 Months) 📍 Onsite | Belleville, NJ | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Position Overview We are seeking a Temporary Health Information Specialist to support Release of Information (ROI) services at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. This role is covering an employee on FMLA leave and is expected to last approximately two months. This is an onsite, patient-facing position responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and HIPAA-compliant processing of medical record requests in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Nice To Haves
- Strong communication skills
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
- Computer proficiency and data entry accuracy
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Provide phone support to patients, providers, and authorized requestors
- Process Release of Information (ROI) requests accurately and within required turnaround times
- Fax, scan, and manage incoming and outgoing medical record requests
- Burn medical images to CDs and facilitate electronic image sharing
- Perform data entry and basic administrative support functions
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and facility privacy policies
