About The Position

Supervise and maintain the Medical Records area including goal setting, planning, policy and procedure development, quality assurance and improvement, and competency of staff. Design and implement the processes used to manage patient information while ensuring privacy and security of all medical records. Provide leadership, strategic direction and management of the day to day operations of the Health Information Management (HIM) function. Act as a technical or administrative resource for comprehensive lean process improvement and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) initiatives.Coordinate, direct and evaluate daily activities of all file room operations at the FHCs. Provide on-going training to professional, clinical and clerical staff regarding the medical record contents, coding, confidentiality, and security. Train Super Users from each clinic department so as to increase the availability of Super User subject experts in each area. Report on the review of medical records for timely completion and documentation. Coordinate procedures for release of medical information and correspondence requests according to local policies, state and federal statutes and laws. Requirements

Degree in Health Information Management
Registered Health Information Associate (RHIA) certification
2+ years Health Information experience
1+ year of supervisory experience
Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
