About The Position

Primary responsibilities include preppging, scanning and quality analysis of patient records. Answering telephone, greeting customers and release of information of patient records. Oversee day to day functions in Health Information Management Department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with some advanced technical training.
  • At least two years experience in acute care hospital health information management department is preferred.
  • Knowledge in maintaining an electronic health record preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and must possess strong motivational work ethic in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work independantly in department and use critical thinking and pay attention to detail to ensure a legally sound medical record.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day to day functions to include prepping all discharged patient records and upload into patient's medical record.
  • Handles telephone and walk in customer requests.
  • Reviews each record for missing required documents, signatures and other items according to procedures
