About The Position

Mountain View Hospital is looking to hire a Medical Records Clerk to join our team! JOB SUMMARY: Reviews medical records after discharge for completeness in compliance with the hospitals bylaws, federal and state requirements. Assures that patient’s abstracts are correctly entered into the chart deficiency system. Monitors accounts being admitted daily for duplication of medical records numbers, along with checking patients discharge status when assembling the chart. Ensures that all transcribed reports are filed in a timely manner in the charts. Communicates with physicians about delinquent reports. Accountable for the accurate transcription of dictated reports. Assures the completion of incomplete medical records within the time frame as specified by the medical staff rules and regulations. Is familiar with requirements of the state guidelines of timeframes for processing of the charts such as the History and Physical and Operatives report timeframes allowed. Requirements

• Education/Certification: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Equipment/Technology: Ability to use hospital information system, and operate basic computer functions and software.
• Language/Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals along with the ability to write routine reports and correspondence, ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Mental Capabilities: Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form along with the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Interpersonal: Ability to work well with others.
• Performance: Must maintain a positive professional attitude.
