About The Position

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Health Information Analyst at South Sound Behavioral Hospital. In this role, you will carry out the activities of the Health Information Services Department in the maintenance of all patient medical records information, ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws, rules/regulations of licensing agencies and within the Joint Commission standards for the quality of patient care. Monitor the accuracy and appropriate maintenance of medical records on every patient, insuring compliance with rules and regulations of state agencies, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Organizations, and Medical Staff Bylaws. Maintain confidentiality of medical records, ensuring the release of files and/or records to only appropriate and authorized authorities. Monitor the quality of the transcription services offered by the department, to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Assist in the abstraction and analysis of data from the medical record for medical care evaluation studies, patterns of patient care and Performance Improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in information management and direct experience in a health care psychiatric facility preferred.
