About The Position

The Sanneh Foundation (TSF) is a 501(c)(3) serving the various needs of Minnesota's low-income youth and their families. The Health & Housing Program Coordinator VISTA will build the capacity of The Sanneh Foundation to support a new youth housing and recovery program. By creating financial tracking modes, coordinating inter-departmental communication, and building external partnerships, the VISTA will help improve economic stability and healthy futures for low-income youth and workforce development participants in low-income populations.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age (no upper limit).
  • Pass a national service criminal history check.
  • Hold one of the following citizenship statuses: U.S. citizen, U.S. National, Lawful Permanent Resident Aliens and persons residing in a state that have the following legal residency classifications: Refugee, asylum or asylee, temporary protected status, or deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) status.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in TSF on-site orientation, including history, mission, core values, and department introductions.
  • Meet with key leaders in the Finance, Data & Evaluation, and Workforce departments to understand the current scope of the Ramsey County housing project.
  • Review existing program literature, data reporting processes, and partner agency relationships.
  • Spend time with TSF staff to understand existing partnership and resources available, the nature of those partnerships, and observe and facilitate programming.
  • Work with Sanneh Compliance & Workforce staff and consultants to research and develop an initial tracking systems for youth housing applications and financial coordination between departments.
  • Shadow at meetings with potential partner agencies with Program Director.
  • Document information about needs and resources available.
  • Act as a coordinator between the Finance, Data & Evaluation, Nutritional Services, and Workforce teams to ensure cohesive communication and data accuracy for the Ramsey County Project.
  • Create meeting agendas and materials, and schedule stakeholders relevant to developing an outline for a Health & Housing program handbook.
  • Design inter-departmental communication tools to facilitate regular check-ins between mentors, social workers, and workforce staff regarding housing participants.
  • Locate one new partner or partners that could assist the program through in kind donations or technical support.
  • Document collaboration outcomes with recovery and housing partners and Direct Supervisor.
  • Develop ideas for Health & Housing program operations outline, and standard operating procedure recommendations to include program outputs and data reporting in partnership with Data & Evaluation VISTA and TSF staff.
  • Work with Nutritional Services staff and consultants to research and develop an initial process for data collection and reporting for housing participants.
  • Identify local third-party job placement partners.
  • Cultivate and document relationships with social workers, local organizations, food rescue and recovery partners to support workforce-eligible housing participants.
  • Research best practices for integrating wrap-around services, such as housing and food support, into existing workforce development models.
  • Develop a staff logistics resource regarding all partner agencies and their current relationship to TSF, contact information, and other pertinent details to program effectiveness.
  • Develop ideas for Health & Housing partnership best practices and recommendations to include program outputs and data reporting in partnership with Data & Evaluation VISTA and TSF staff.
  • Train relevant TSF staff on the use of new tracking systems and partnership databases.
