About The Position

The YMCA of Orange County is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are actively seeking compassionate, dependable, and service-oriented individuals for seasonal Health Center Staff (Camp Nurse/EMT) positions. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of campers and staff, as well as providing first aid and emergency care as needed. As a Nurse/EMT at Camp ELK, you will have the opportunity to work with youth while gaining valuable work experience in your field. Location: YMCA Camp E.L.K. in Wrightwood, CA Work Schedule: Seasonal position. Looking for staff who are available to work June 20th through July 25th. Must be available full length of camp and role is required to be onsite overnight. Purpose and Impact: Ensure a Safe & Healthy Camp Community: Provide daily medical care, first aid, and thoughtful support to campers and staff, creating an environment where everyone feels protected and cared for. Champion Wellness & Confidence: Use your medical expertise and compassionate approach to guide campers and staff through moments of need, promoting a culture of well-being, trust, and readiness across the camp community. Strengthen Camp Community: Contribute to a positive, inclusive environment by supporting wellness, addressing challenges with care, and helping ensure every camper feels capable, supported, and ready for adventure. Job Description will be provided during interview.

Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 18+ years
  • RN Nursing or California EMT certification required.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification (will be able to obtain during summer camp staff training).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a medical clinic, hospital or other related experience strongly preferred.
  • Pediatric medical experience preferred.
