Health Care Technician II - Cherry Hospital
About The Position
The HCT II serves as a role model and mentor to other HCT I’s throughout the facility and provides quality care to patients on 3 Birch. The Independence Transition Unit (ITU) is an inpatient unit serving individuals from the ages of 18 years of age and older. The objective of the ITU unit is to provide a safe and structured environment for patients awaiting discharge from the hospital. A multidisciplinary care team targets a broad range of psychiatric illnesses and behavioral challenges with therapeutic programs and educational groups. Nursing teammates work closely as part of the multidisciplinary team to help patients meet their goals and transition back into the community. Nursing care is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This is a 1st shift position (7a – 3:30p).
Requirements
- High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
- As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Must successfully pass all required parts of CPI’s Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.

- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotions and psychosocial needs of the patient population served.
