About The Position

Health Care Technician II will serve as an on-the-job trainer, resource person, and mentor. Work involves knowledge and demonstration of all Health Care Technician I level tasks, duties, and responsibilities. The Health Care Technician II will spend much of their time in a mentor role and must be a problem-solver and troubleshooter. Work involves providing ongoing observation, interaction, and feedback to individuals under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. This position provides safe and basic care when transporting patients to and from external appointments as well as in the hospital. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:30p but may be required to rotate to other shifts including day, evening and/or night shift. May require overtime. Requires reporting for duty in inclement weather.

Requirements

Considerable knowledge of approved behavioral intervention programs and needs of the population served
Must pass physical test prior to employment
Ability to effectively convey accurate information to family members, individuals and treatment team under general supervision, in verbal and written forms
Ability to maintain a professional and even-tempered demeanor and work relationships
Must have a valid Drivers’ License due to driving and transporting patients in a safe manner obeying all NC traffic laws
This Position Is Designated as Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.
High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
As applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
