About The Position

This is a temporary position located in Buncombe County with the Department of Health and Human Services. The primary purpose of the Restorative Care Aide is to work under the supervision of a Nurse Supervisor, serving as an extension to Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language therapists. The position provides services in areas such as mobility, dining, range of motion, therapeutic bathing, shaving, and hygiene. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), this role also acts as a liaison to other CNAs, assisting in providing leisure and social activities, basic care, and maintenance services within the residential areas. The work is performed at BMNTC, a 24-hour residential facility that serves adults with chronic and complex medical conditions that co-exist with neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders, often related to severe and persistent mental illness or intellectual disability. Temporary employees working an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation (as required)
  • Listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (as applicable)
  • North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification (as applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Provide services, as warranted, in areas of mobility, dining, range of motion, therapeutic bathing, shaving, and/or hygiene
  • Serve as a liaison to other CNA's in providing leisure and social activities, basic care, and maintenance services in the residential areas served
