About The Position

This is a temporary position located in Buncombe County with the Department of Health and Human Services. The primary purpose of the Restorative Care Aide is to work under the supervision of a Nurse Supervisor, serving as an extension to Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language therapists. The position provides services in areas of mobility, dining, range of motion, therapeutic bathing, shaving, and/or hygiene. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), this role also serves as a liaison to other CNAs in providing leisure and social activities, basic care, and maintenance services in residential areas. The agency, Office of State Human Resources Division Temporary Solutions, aims to provide a solid Human Resource management foundation, responsible oversight, and creative solutions through a collaborative approach with all stakeholders to maximize the potential of employees.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation (as required for continued employment)
  • Listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (as applicable for continued employment)
  • North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification (as applicable for continued employment)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an extension to the therapists in the areas of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language
  • Provide services in areas of mobility, dining, range of motion, therapeutic bathing, shaving, and/or hygiene
  • Serve as a liaison to other CNA's in providing leisure and social activities, basic care, and maintenance services in the residential areas served
