About The Position

The Health Care Technician I position is primarily responsible for providing direct care and person centered supports to residents with complex physical, intellectual, medical, and behavioral needs. Health Care Technician I focus on providing services to enhance the quality-of-life of their residents in a caring home environment with dignity and respect, offering choices and options to support individuality. Duties include completing nursing assistant assignments while maintaining optimal gross/fine motor skills, ensuring activities of daily living (mealtime, dressing, bathing, grooming, etc.) while supporting the highest level of independence. This position is responsible for ensuring all health and safety needs are met for assigned residents per regulatory guidelines. Health Care Technician I are responsible for ensuring confidentiality and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) in all aspects of communication.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • To be considered for employment the applicant must be in good standing with the NC Health Care Personnel Registry.
  • Employee will be required to successfully complete training through our Staff Development department which includes, but is not limited to NCI (North Carolina Intervention), CPR, Body Mechanics and lifting.
  • The HCT I position requires frequent lifting and bending.
  • As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
  • As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • As applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
