PennLive — Pennsylvania’s most‑read local news site for six years running — is seeking a dynamic, data‑driven enterprise reporter to investigate the health care, education and quality‑of-life issues that shape communities across the state. This role is for a journalist with sharp instincts and curiosity — someone who sees trends before they break, asks tough questions and turns quick hits into impactful, deeply reported stories that drive understanding and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of two years of journalism experience with a proven ability in reporting and writing.
  • A strong track record of enterprise and investigative reporting.
  • Comfort working with data and incorporating it meaningfully into stories.
  • Excellent news judgment and the ability to balance speed with depth.
  • Clean, conversational writing that keeps readers engaged from start to finish.
  • This job requires reliable transportation to meet sources and cover breaking news in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Break news on major statewide issues and follow it with enterprise reporting that reveals what readers truly need to know.
  • Use data, documents and public records to uncover patterns, inequities and systemic problems.
  • Translate complex topics into clear, engaging and accessible journalism.
  • Work across formats — written stories, visuals, social media, video and more — to reach audiences where they are.
  • Deliver reporting that is timely, authoritative and built for a digital audience.
