About The Position

The role of the Health Care Informaticist reports to the Health Care Informatics Lead. This position is responsible for assisting in development of a successful design, implementation, and early stabilization for the Washington Regional Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in health informatics, Computer Science, Nursing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in health informatics or related field.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and deadlines at one time.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, cross-functional, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong understanding of clinical process and/or healthcare operations.
  • Ability to quickly connect and effectively communicate with key stakeholders and end users.
  • Ability to lead matrixed teams to success, as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred.
  • Active certifications in 1 or more EPIC applications preferred.
  • ANCC Informatics Nursing or other relevant informatics certification preferred.
  • Previous EHR implementation experience, preferred.
  • Previous EHR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate clinical, business, or information science expertise to lead, design, develop, test, implement, and evaluate informatics solutions and health information technology.
  • Inform and drive the development, implementation, and evaluation of data structure and decision-support mechanisms that impact the information management for patients and healthcare providers.
  • Translate and recommend healthcare practice needs into technological solutions for seamless workflow integration.
  • Champion electronic health record integrity and support patient safety, quality, regulatory, compliance standards, and best practices.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation on system configurations and procedures for future reference and maintenance.
  • Partner with the interprofessional healthcare, the Application & IT Portfolio Management, and the Information Services Training teams.
  • Serve as a change agent and consultant within identified change management models.
  • Collaborate with Applications and Information Services Training team to support and deliver end user training.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts, advisory councils, and workgroups in developing and validating healthcare content and workflows.
  • Collaborate with and provide recommendations to enterprise leadership and stakeholders to ensure the development of systems that improve documentation accuracy and efficiency while supporting the meaningful collection and analysis of clinical data for performance improvement and healthcare research.
  • Engage with clinical staff to understand workflows and translate clinical needs into effective EHR solutions.
  • Work closely with the project team to meet implementation milestones and adhere to project timelines.
  • Work closely with project team on translating workflows into system build and supporting function/integrated testing.
  • Other duties as assigned
