About The Position

The Director of Clinic Operations provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for multiple clinics and service lines within Washington Regional Medical System, with a primary focus on primary care and non-surgical specialty clinics. This role ensures efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered operations while driving business performance, financial management, strategic planning, and personnel development. The Director also leads the execution of corporate initiatives and projects as directed by System leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, including:
Managing multi-site operations and leading teams toward shared goals.
Collecting and analyzing data to drive performance improvements.
Developing and implementing systematic changes and operational policies.
Demonstrated success in creating a customer-centric environment.
Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and operational best practices.
Expertise in financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning.
Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across departments and with external partners.
Proven leadership skills in coaching, mentoring, and developing management teams.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership: Direct and manage clinic operations across multiple locations, ensuring alignment with Washington Regional’s mission, vision, strategic goals, and budgetary targets.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement policies, procedures, and operational strategies to optimize performance and patient care.
Financial Oversight: Monitor financial performance, collaborate with leadership to meet budget goals, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., facilities, marketing, HR, IT, billing) to achieve practice objectives and support integrated care.
Practice Integration: Lead transitions for acquired or integrated physician practices within assigned service lines.
Executive Consultation: Advise senior leadership on operational direction, strategic initiatives, and care coordination.
Market Development: Analyze utilization, demographics, and market trends; lead initiatives to grow system services and strengthen community partnerships.
Project Management: Oversee corporate projects, including care partnerships and health development initiatives, fostering relationships with key partners (e.g., UAMS, University of Arkansas, PHA).
Budget & Performance: Collaborate with finance leadership to develop budgets and drive growth, revenue, and profitability.
Talent Management: Recruit, train, evaluate, and manage clinic leadership teams; resolve complex employee relations issues.
Quality & Compliance: Partner with clinical leadership to audit records, ensure compliance with standards, and implement quality improvement programs.
Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present reports, statistical analyses, and confidential data to internal and external stakeholders.
Professional Development: Approve and support staff education programs; maintain knowledge of industry trends through ongoing learning.
Align departmental activities with System priorities and respond effectively to changing needs or urgent events.
Develop, secure approval for, and implement policies and procedures that support departmental services.
Recommend and maintain adequate staffing levels; assess qualifications and competencies to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Continuously evaluate and enhance care quality and service performance through quality control and improvement programs.
Provide or facilitate orientation and ongoing education for all departmental personnel.
Recommend space and resource needs; collaborate with consultants, architects, and contractors on facility development projects.
Participate in selecting off-site resources necessary for departmental services.
Conduct regular staff meetings to share updates on mission, values, operational plans, safety, and quality initiatives.
Provide timely feedback on organizational performance improvement activities and actively participate in related initiatives.
Maintain professional affiliations and stay informed on industry trends through reading, seminars, and conferences.
