Requirements

  • Associate degree with five or more years of E,H&S experience.
  • Strong functional knowledge of OSHA General Industry regulations.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and respectfully across all levels.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to train personnel on OSHA and company-wide safety requirements.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining site-wide safety programs.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel).
  • Ability to legally work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Six Sigma training or certification.
  • 30-Hour General Industry Safety & Health Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce site EH&S policies to ensure compliance with OSHA and Corporate standards.
  • Develop and improve safety systems and execute E,H&S projects that enhance site performance.
  • Lead and participate in activities that promote employee engagement and ownership in safety.
  • Support the incident investigation process, ensuring accurate classification, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Provide in-plant support to leadership, operators, mechanics, contractors, and technical staff to ensure safe work practices.
  • Conduct routine field line walks to observe, coach, recognize safety behaviors, and provide real-time training.
  • Maintain E,H&S data systems and generate reporting used to drive health and safety improvements.
  • Develop, update, and deliver safety training programs, including online learning modules.
  • Support site-wide E,H&S training needs in alignment with IFF’s global regulatory policies.
  • Implement and support injury and illness case management, ensuring accurate OSHA recordkeeping.
  • Coordinate annual medical exams and occupational health assessments.
  • Maintain and update the site’s Emergency Response Plan, ensuring teams are prepared and properly trained.
  • Support Confined Space, First Aid, and Fire Response teams as needed.
  • Assist in contractor management, including onboarding, safety induction, and on-the-job oversight.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
