About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Health and Safety Manager for our South Jordan office for projects based in Utah. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) related field or equivalent
• Minimum of 7 years of experience on transportation and large civil construction projects
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Valid Utah driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly on-site safety inspections.
• Provide the Engineer an opportunity to participate in these inspections.
• Coordinate safety related efforts with the on-site competent safety person.
• Provide specific project safety orientation
• Attendance is required for Contractor, Subcontractors, and Department employees working on the project before beginning work at the project.
• Document attendance.
• Verify that on-site supervisors have completed and passed OSHA 10-hour Construction training or an OSHA 30-hour Construction training class regardless of company affiliation.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
