About The Position

As a Header Set Up Operator, you’ll be part of our team located in Lakewood, OH. You’ll get to: Review upcoming jobs and consult with the foreman for assignments. Verify, collect, and inspect correct tooling from the tool crib. Clean all tooling, chutes, bins, and pans before setup and production. Return damaged or worn tooling to the die room with required paperwork. Follow documented setup procedures and adjust tooling as needed. Record setup times, production activity, downtime, and scrap. Perform and document hourly inspections and fill out required charts. Inspect parts for quality; segregate and scrap defective items. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in compliance with regulations. Demonstrate attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Maintain proper work environment by maintaining plant cleanliness and organized work areas utilizing 5S practices. Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably with automated or semi-automated machinery.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and setup forms.
  • Proficiency in inspecting, setting up, and adjusting tooling and gauges for production jobs.
  • Strong record-keeping skills, including accurate completion of setup, production, and inspection documentation.
  • Ability to identify, segregate, and scrap defective parts based on visual and dimensional standards.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures and equipment log documentation.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with foremen, tool crib attendants, and other team members.
  • Willingness to participate in continuous improvement efforts and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
