About The Position

Richard Bland College (RBC) is a two-year, residential, liberal arts transfer institution that focuses on preparing students for transfer to highly ranked colleges and universities. The College is a hidden gem located outside the Tri-Cities region-and its rural setting featuring 750+ acres of wetlands, bucolic forest, and the state's oldest and largest pecan grove. Richard Bland College Athletics seeks a dynamic, student-centered Head Women's Flag Football Coach to build and lead a competitive, academically successful program. The head coach will be responsible for all facets of the program: recruiting, practice and game-day coaching, staff supervision, student-athlete academic progress, budget management, compliance with NJCAA (and conference) rules, fundraising, and community engagement. The coach will be expected to represent RBC Athletics professionally on campus and in the community while supporting the college's mission.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated coaching experience in flag football, football, or related sport (intercollegiate, high school, or club).
  • Experience recruiting or working with the collegiate recruiting process
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and lead at a high school level or higher
  • A valid driver's license and ability to travel

  • Demonstrated experience coaching a flag football program at the collegiate level
  • Experience with budget management, fundraising, and community engagement.
  • Knowledge of NJCAA regulations (or willingness to train quickly).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the women's flag football program: practice planning, game preparation, strategy, and performance analysis.
  • Recruit, evaluate, and retain qualified student-athletes who meet RBC's academic and eligibility standards; build pipelines with local high schools, club programs, and community partners.
  • Monitor academic progress and ensure student-athletes receive appropriate academic support; enforce team academic policies.
  • Manage program budget, including travel, equipment, supplies, and event costs; adhere to departmental financial policies.
  • Coordinate team travel, lodging, and game logistics; travel with the team to competitions as required.
  • Lead fundraising, community outreach, and promotional activities to grow fan engagement and program support.
  • Maintain accurate team and individual statistics; handle required reporting to athletics information/athletic department systems.
