Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach
About The Position
Addison Community Schools is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Head Coach for our Varsity Boys Basketball. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing young athletes, teaching fundamental skills, and fostering teamwork and sportsmanship. This position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on student-athletes both on and off the field. Interested applicants should have knowledge of the game, strong communication skills, and a commitment to supporting the overall goals of the Addison Athletics program. Job functions may include, but are not limited to: Developing and communicating clear and specific goals for the team and individual players Maintaining open and honest communication with students, parents, other coaches, and Athletic Director Developing and demonstrating a good knowledge base of best practices specific to their coaching arena Working closely with all coaches in the program Working with the team budget Supporting and collaborating with coaches in other athletic programs Organizing all practices and games Supporting student academic expectations, responsibilities, and achievements Promoting and enforcing the student-athlete code of conduct Connecting athletic experiences with life experiences Providing an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration among coaches and players Becoming an integral part of and developing rapport with the Addison Community including administration, coaches, parents, Athletic Booster Club, and students Modeling good sportsmanship always Creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for student athletes Understanding their leadership style and its impact on student-athletes Game and practice attire should be professional and appropriate Perform other duties as assigned
