General Description The Head Teller has direct responsibility for ongoing scheduling, coaching, and supervision to the branch teller staff under the Branch Manager's authority. In addition to completing daily teller routines, the Head Teller will: Provide professional teller service to customers; Complete transactions accurately and efficiently according to established policies and procedures; Identify referral opportunities and make appropriate suggestions that best meet the customers' needs. RESPONSIBILITIES Provides teller supervision and schedule the work of all tellers in the branch office; assist other branches as needed. Demonstrates the ability to manage more advanced service issues independently. Provides guidance to tellers in complex customer transactions, balancing daily settlements, and meeting customer needs. Responsible for teller disciplinary actions to include verbal and/or written documentation. Performs teller duties. Performs training and coaching of new tellers. Reviews the teller over/short report at least on a monthly basis. Ensures Teller compliance with bank policies and procedures. Ensures appropriate branch cash supply, orders currency, prepares/verifies currency shipments. Opens and closes vault daily, controls cash in vault, distributes daily cash to tellers. Processes transactions accurately and efficiently. Responsible for answering incoming phone calls and assisting customers with their banking needs. Smile and greet customers; Provide great customer service. Identify customer needs and refer products and services. Monitor and control teller cash drawer limits. Follow bank security policies and procedures, such as opening and closing procedures and maintaining alarm codes and functions. Abides by the Teller Policy & Procedures Guidelines. Maintains an acceptable over/short difference. Cashes checks within assigned limits. Process night deposits under dual control. Balances ATM & Vault. Maintains knowledge of bank products & services. Keeps up to date with required Compliance courses and appropriate tests. The above requirements may be changed or updated by management at any time.
