The Head Teller position is responsible for overseeing the Teller personnel, ensuring proper staffing, and assisting Tellers with identifying and correcting out-of-balance conditions. The role includes ensuring that the department has adequate supplies and equipment, assisting customers with account inquiries and discrepancies, and handling customer complaints. The Head Teller will also perform Teller duties as needed, assist with the verification and balancing of the branch, vault/safe, ATM, and work documents, and monitor the bank's security procedures. Additionally, the Head Teller will approve checks for payment that exceed the Tellers' limits, supervise branch proof, Teller recap, and reporting, train new hires, and conduct remedial Teller training as necessary.

  • Schedule all Teller personnel to maintain proper staffing.
  • Assist Tellers with identifying and correcting out-of-balance conditions.
  • Ensure that the department has adequate supplies and equipment to accomplish its functions.
  • Assist customers with account inquiries and discrepancies and handle customer complaints.
  • Perform the duties of a Teller, as needed.
  • Assist with the verification and balancing of the branch, vault/safe, ATM and work documents.
  • Monitor and review the bank's security procedures and control access to the vault.
  • Approve checks for payment that are over the Tellers' limits within specified authority.
  • Supervise branch proof, Teller recap, and reporting.
  • Train new hires and conduct remedial Teller training as necessary.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management.
  • Proficient with computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to operate related computer applications and other business equipment including copy machine, coin and money counting machines and telephone system.
  • Solid organizational and analytical skills with the ability to exercise good judgment consistent with department guidelines.
  • Good leadership, training and coaching skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship and communication skills.
  • Excellent Math skills.
  • Flexibility to work different schedules as early as 7:15 am and as late as 6:15 pm, and support Saturday banking hours as needed.
