About The Position

The Head Teller position at Flagstar Bank involves processing deposits and withdrawals in accordance with bank policy and procedures. The role requires keeping records of money and negotiable instruments involved in financial transactions. The Head Teller will supervise the teller line and process a variety of financial transactions including check cashing, withdrawals, deposit, and loan payments. Additionally, the Head Teller will assist tellers with more complex tasks, back up tellers, and perform teller duties as needed. Responsibilities also include managing the vault and auditing, reporting, and balancing cash drawers.

Requirements

• High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent, required.
• Minimum 3-4 years teller experience in a commercial bank setting.
• Experience in financial services industry, preferred.
• Supervisory experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and service clients in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Identify counterfeit currency.
• Cash checks, process withdrawals, and pay out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
• Place hold on accounts for uncollected funds.
• Transfer funds between accounts when requested by clients.
• Maintain security of vault and night depository through dual controls.
• Complete ATM Daily Proof and assist with weekly/bi-weekly ATM Proof and Replenishment.
• Maintain security of ATM through dual control.
• Provide support to other teller units when needed.
• Assist in training of new tellers.
• Assist with the daily Financial Center Proof.
