About The Position

The J Head Swim Team Coach is a leadership position for the youth swim team. This position will work closely with the Director of Aquatics to build, grow, and lead the swim team. The Head Swim Team Coach will lead practices and competitions. They will also communicate to all team members and families to inform and motivate the team. Recruiting and retention will be key priorities.

Requirements

3-5 years experience coaching a youth swim team.
Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, Access, and Internet Explorer.
Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.

Responsibilities

Creates and plans team workouts.
Leads team practices by providing instruction and motivation.
Develops positive relationships with team members and families.
Tracks performance and times for all team members.
Schedules swim meets in the area and provides all entries for the team.
Performs all other related duties as assigned
Provides routine communications to swim team families for the benefit of the swimmers to include upcoming events and practices.
Provides regular updates to the Director of Aquatics on team performance.
Actively recruits new participants to the team.
Attend monthly staff meetings.
Maintain all required certifications for the position.
Assist all assistant coaches in maintaining their certifications.
Participate in agency-wide in-service training programs.
Participate in agency-wide Open House/Program Registration days as required.
