About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Pool Manager and Asst. Manager, Responsible for the supervision of the sim instructor performance, the orderly operation, and day-to-day activities of the Municipal pool; oversees programs specific to swim lessons including staff training, lesson-planning, and he Acorn Aquatic Academy.

Requirements

A high school graduate (preferred) with a minimum of one year experience in water safety/swim instruction capacity.
Must have Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in swim coaching or swim instructions preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee and maintain smooth operations of all the City Pool's swim lesson program(s).
Ensure safety during all swim lesson programs and activities.
Responsible for opening facility and submitting water chemistry report prior to class time.
Ensures consistency of swim lesson program and instructors; coach instructors to help maintain a high quality of instruction and service.
Assist in the scheduling of swim instructors for all lessons.
Assist in the preparation of materials and providing information on swim lesson program(s).
Responsible for session start check-in and benchmarking participants to place them in appropriate class levels.
Keeps track of instructor teaching times for additional instructor pay.
Responsible for helping instructors make lesson plans, making additional games/songs/activities know and available to instructors.
Responsible for swim lesson report cards and completion stickers are available to instructors.
Assist with pre-season preparations.
Assist with City-hosted World's Largest Swim Lesson.
Assist with evaluation and implementation of individual swim instructors and swim lesson program.
Performs other duties as assigned.
