Your Mission in Action The Program Trainer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering training programs to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, Child Care Minimum Standards, and funding requirements. This role includes administering pre- and post-assessments, managing training records, and supporting new employee orientation. The Program Trainer collaborates with leadership to design and implement professional development initiatives, track staff certifications, and provide ongoing training support. Additionally, this position ensures all employees meet required training standards, including CPR/First Aid certification, and maintains accurate documentation to support program compliance and staff development. The Program Trainer delivers new employee orientation, annual mandatory training, and supplemental training for employees, contractors, and volunteers. The Program Trainer provides instruction on a range of training topics while assisting in the implementation of a comprehensive training plan that aligns with federal requirements and state licensing regulations. This role fosters a culture of continuous learning and professional development while ensuring high-quality training standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field
  • One (1) year of experience in training, professional development, or adult learning facilitation
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards (HSPPS) and Child Care Minimum Standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with online presentation platforms
  • CPR/First aide instructor certification OR must obtain within the first 90 days of hire
  • Valid Texas Driver’s license and proof of auto insurance; ability to meet Agency insurance provider guidelines as an insured and approved driver

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field
  • Five (5) years in training, curriculum development, or professional development within Head Start or early childhood settings
  • Experience delivering training related to child development, classroom management, and Head Start regulations
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting related training and compliance

Responsibilities

  • Design, administer, and assess pre-and post-training evaluations to ensure learning objectives are met and competencies are validated
  • Facilitate Head Start new employee orientation, ensuring alignment with Head Start policies, Child Care Licensing standards, and organizational guidelines
  • Provide training for new and existing employees on required topics, including Head Start regulations, licensing standards, and grant requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of employee training, monitor expiration dates, and ensure compliance with Head Start and Child Care Licensing requirements
  • Schedule and facilitate the annual Head Start Preschool in-service training
  • Input and manage Head Start training requirements through the designated learning management system (LMS) platform
  • Conduct training and recertification for all Head Start staff in CPR and First Aid to meet Child Care Minimum Standards 746.1315
  • Work with leadership and key departments to plan and execute professional development, ensuring compliance with Head Start and Upbring regulations
  • Prepare monthly reports for leadership, track training issues, and provide documentation to maintain program compliance
  • Follow up with new employees at designated intervals (30, 60, and 90 days) to ensure training completion and support their professional growth
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, Child Care Minimum Standards, and Head Start Program Performance Standards, always prioritizing child health, safety, and well-being
