About The Position

Capital Area Head Start is hiring an Inclusion Support Specialist (ISS) to support young children with disabilities and help ensure they receive high‑quality early childhood education services. This role plays a key part in empowering families and strengthening communities. The Inclusion Support Specialist provides direct support to children with disabilities, assists with screening and evaluation processes, and helps implement adaptations and activities tailored to each child’s needs. The ISS also models effective strategies for classroom staff and supports integrated learning environments. Requirements

  • Associates degree in early childhood education, special education, psychology or highly related field
  • Two years of experience working with young children
  • Knowledge of the mental health system and available disability services
